the last bargaining chip.

therapeutic is the last word that i would have used to describe our coaching sessions with Elvin.

simple.
SINCE WHEN IS WORK THERAPEUTIC?!
but it surprisingly is!

Elvin shared with us a lot of stories and two of them left a very deep impression on me.

#1- dont be greedy and anyhow jiat, later lao sai worse.
underlying angmoh meaning: sales is always about quality, not quantity.

i walked into a random saloon at Clementi and asked for a fringe cut.
the auntie who attended to me had the mannerisms and looks of a cleaner but i was rushing for time and went ahead with the cut even when danger bells were ringing within me.

true enough, she screwed by my fringe, earned my $5 but got herself bad karma and bad reputation.
is it really worth it for that $5?

#2- never lose the last bargaining chip

scriptwriters never fail to make showhand" the climax of gambling shows.
similarly in life, dont be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and stand up for yourself.

let those who are taking advantage of you/treating you like 3 year olds know that you're prepared to give it all up if they overstep your line, just like what the villagers did to the boy who cried wolf.

i dont blame the villagers.
how are they supposed to know that he was not lying when he had been doing so all those while?

i want to read this story to yikai!
my mom's still taking care of him and he just started school at the PAP under my block.
the naughty boy drops by my house at 8am in the morning and has been climbing onto my bed to wake me up these days.
H-E-L-P!
