my ez-link was running low and i went to the sweet talk at clementi (near NTUC) to ask to change my 2 dollar bill into coins.
when the fair-skined female chinese national saw me at first, she thought i wanted to get drinks from her and was quite pleasant to me.
but once i asked for change, her face darkened and said, " dont have".
now, dont get me wrong.
i am extremely proud of my chinese heritage and i have nothing against the chinese nationals, but i have everything against her attitude.
at the restaurants that ive worked for, they tend to price things higher than hawker centres. (duh)
take for eg, restaurant A sells coke at $5++ while restaurant B sells char kuay teow at $10.
all sometimes construction workers will come to my workplace to buy our $10 char kuay teow and will be greeted with a rude shock when we reveal the price to them.
honestly if you ask me, paying $5++ for a coke that you can buy with $1 at NTUC and $10 for the char kuay teow that you can buy with $3 in a hawker centre is ($&%*(#&$)(@.
but ive never once looked down on any of these people (usually construction workers and travellers).
i still serve them all the same even if i know the chances of them buying anything from us is near 0.
so from today onwards, that bubble tea shop just lost a customer and also suffered bad word of mouth.

i finally got down to do some serious job hunting today and heard from 3 companies.
woke up at 9am to send out my resumes and 2 event companies which ive been working part- time with called to ask for interviews.
am really glad that my hard work paid off- handling those aunties, kiasu singaporeans and devil-ish pri sch kids was no joke.
wish me luck!
