2008.

finally some time to sit down alone to reflect, to think and to put those thoughts down into words. (:

this entry is long overdue but 2008 had been a significant year for me and i wanna pen it down in words. (:
2008 was a fun filled year, though there were tough times.
but with the support of my dearest friends, i managed to pull through. (:


studies
academically, i improved.
(all these internship days kinda made me forget im still a student)
when my year 2 sem 2 results came out in march, i was shocked.
it was the toughest sem ever and ironically, it was also my best sem academically, with my gpa moving up to 3.2.
it may not be a big deal for some, but i see it as an achievement and im immersely proud of myself for achieving my personal best despite all the things that were ongoing back then. (:


hockey
i was awarded the colours award, one of the highest form of recognition a player gets from his school.
i was overjoyed beyond words.
POLITES 08. the girls did not manage to clinch the top 3 position but i believe we will never forget how we worked together as a team to make things happen.
2009 is yours, babes. (:
BAV! I'M SURE U'LL BE ABLE TO LEAD THE TEAM TO VICTORY. I BELIEVE IN YOU! (:

adventurers
other than hockey, i went back to SPA for a little while, and helped out with the FO camp.
will never forget those days. (:

relationships
i got closer to a few people, drifted with some and lost two.. perhaps three friendships.
it's always been something which gets to me as im someone who treasures my friends.
but i guess in every relationship, it takes two to clap.
my hand can always be waiting there, but there's still nothing that i can do if the other party doesnt want to "clap together".

i was single most of the time and dated a few people over the period of april-dec.
partied quite a bit too, as it was my avenue to let loose and release the stress that was building up from the various aspects in my life.
fortunately i hang out with the right company and i really wanna say a big thank you to you guys who had been taking care of me. (:


and cos i led a relatively pampered life, I PUT ON 10KG IN TOTAL! =x
the only consolation is, 90% of my friends told me they cant tell much of a difference. :D

work
internship in shanghai was one of the highlights in 08- the much needed escape from sg, the fun, the bitching, the venturing and the learning.

joined borders bistro when i came back and i've never regretted since.
i love the bunch of people there! (:
the food as well! =D

juggled pp and borders over the period of oct-nov and it made me even more certain that i wanna explore the possibilty of the hospitality industry.

then came the official internship in dec.
im still in the midst of it and my only comments are, "enriching yet draining".
hell. i even dreamt of the details of work!
stress. =/


and about a week ago,
just when i was reflecting on my 2008 mentally and thinking that these are all, it presented me with a sudden twist.
(:


all in all, i really wanna thank those who had taken care of me and had been there for me when i was down and out.
you guys know who you are.
may 2009 be a even better year for all of us! (:
