my weekend.

sat was spent working from 9.30am-6.30pm at SI, teaching kids.
it was a killer cos i had to bend down all the time to communicate with them due to our height difference. :(
even now, two days later, my poor back is still aching.
what's worse is they don't really understand what you're telling them and they pretend to know.
but the worst case scenario will be when there's two pairs of eyes following you and the child.
and when the child falls down, pray hard that those two pairs of eyes will understand that it is only when you fall that you'd learn.

and aha! throw in the combination of demanding customers and f*cked up boss who throws things around to show his temper and his big boss status.
WOOHOOO.

but i met a really nice lady during my course of work on saturday who bought drinks for everyone of us.
her two daughters were geared up and skating around, but i didnt know that only her youngest was taking lessons with us.
so i went on to give free lessons to her eldest without knowing it.
and when the mother knew, she came to talk to me and tried to give me some money cos..

o1.she felt guitly.
o2.she felt that i was underpaid cos she overheard the boss saying we get around $50 per day.

i refused her money and told her that it was alright.
"for the passion of teaching," i said. (:

then we sat down to talk.
turns that she's a doctor!
and we were touching on issues such as the education system in singapore and the society.
i told her i dropped out from pj and am heading for sp.
and she looked at me and said earnestly, " that's very brave of you!"
at that very moment, my heart smiled.
but at the very same moment when it was smiling, it teared too.
i was touched and sad, at the same time.

" but my mom was very upset about my decision," i told her.
and then we went on to talk about the culture in singpaore.
about how the society views people who does not succeed academically as rotten apples.
and how hard it is for these people to shake off the labels that are stuck on the by the society.
she raised the example of how it is a norm for people in their 30s, 4os, 50s etc to return to school and sit in together with the people in their 20s to study under one roof in america.
in contrast, how it is a unusual sight for the people in their 30s, 40s, 50s etc to
return to school and sit in together with the people in their 20s to study under one roof in singapore.
and she also raised an example on how one of her friends who raised many eyebrows when he abandoned his doctor post to pursue his dream on becoming a pilot.

and so she said, in singapore, it's either we bang very hard on our books and thread on the path that the society deems fit or we veer towards our own destination with our own hands and ignore those raised eyebrows.

mommie, do you hear all those comming from a doctor and a mother?

and.. we also touched on how the older generation do not encourage nor prasie their children at all.
i agreed with her and told her that was exactly the reason why i liked this job.
i like to praise and encourage my students with those typical "good! well done!" etc though they might not be doing extremely well.
`cos i know how it feels to be deprived of those encouragements and praises.
i know how it feels.

wnt for dinner with simin and family in the night at those ulu ulu seafood eateries.
CHILLI CRABS, hot plate tofu, vege, scrambled eggs!!
i was so hungry after working for a day that i practically gobbled everything on the table. =x
then we went to sheng siong at ten mile junction.
the chocolate section nearly swept us off our feets.
it's OMG! - drools -
and i bought a REALLY CUTE doggie thingy which contains jelly and doubles up as a piggy bank and van houten's semi sweet with her dad's money. :X

my sunday was a simple affair spent with my dear boy as compared to my busy and tiring saturday.
we had lunch and dinner together and caught final destination 3. :)
but, in the middle of our date, he had to go for his camp briefing.
#)(%&(#$)_*@)#*(#$&)#$
so he dropped me off at OC library to read.
i was reading this time management book in a corner when this guy talked to me.
i looked up and saw my second bro. :X!
lady luck must be playng tricks with me cos i sneaked out of the house with the "i'm-working-for-the-day" excuse. :X
so i told him not to tell my mom that he saw me and sped off to other sections.
and tata! i found dan's brown deception point when i stopped at the fiction corner.
what luck! :D

and we also stumbled on a new inline company.. urban inline.
and they are giving away free crocs if you sign up on the spot!
the singaporean in me nearly wanted to sign up. =p

FD3 wasn't as gross as i expected it to be.
both of us still think that the descent is much worse.
and to date, the descent is the only show i couldn't take it and hid in his arms.
i'm a brave girl ok? =p

it's gonna be a week later before i'll be able to see him again cos of his tight work schedule.
mr lim, work hard but take care of yourself k.
- hugs & misses -
shall take him on MY shopping spree when i see him nxt mon. -grins-
